1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon cinnamon

2) Toss apples and lemon juice in a large bowl. Arrange along bottom of prepared baking dish.
3) In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, egg, and cinnamon until resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle over apples. Pour melted butter over the top of the entire dish.
4) Bake 30 minutes, until juices bubble and top is golden. Serve warm or cold.

Reviews and Comments:
It came out pretty good :)
I like so much this apple recipe. It's so easy to prepare.
This was delicious! Although, I sprinkled brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger on each layer of apples then added the crumbled top. It made a nice caramel sauce. I don't think it would have been as good without it. I also halfed the butter (only because I didn't have enough)
Can you use margarine instead of butter?
Great recipe, quick, easy, and tasty!!
I should have halved the butter, there was definitely too much. The idea of adding spices between layers of apple is great, Loni, it made the cobbler much more flavourful.
Jennie, if you prefer margarine for health reasons butter is healthier. The hydrogenated oils in margarine turn into more cholesterol in the liver than is contained in butter and it is an unnatural substance that is carcinergenic.
Delicious! I almost eat it all!
It's too sweet.
This recipe was okay. It lacked he juiciness that most cobblers have. I probably won't make it again.
